The course will provide the basic theoretical elements and will describe various available technological solutions suitable to design, implement and evaluate modern radiocommunication systems.
Analog and digital radiocommunication systems. Propagation in wireless media. Multipath/time-varying channel models, fading, dispersion. Wideband modulations, code-division multiple access (CDMA), orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), multicarrier CDMA (MC-CDMA). Cellular networks, frequency allocation, traffic-based network design, radio resource management. GSM and GPRS mobile systems.

At the end of the lectures the students will acquire the necessary knowledge to assess, design and to monitor the main elements constituting the radiocommunication systems.
