Fabio Lavagetto's Home Page
Short Curriculum
Dr. Fabio Lavagetto was born in Genova, Italy,
on August 6, 1962. He received the Laurea degree in electrical
engineering from the University of Genova, Italy, in 1987. From 1987
to 1988 he has worked by the Marconi Group where his basic
activity has concerned real time image processing on special purpose
architectures. In the end of 1988 he joined DIST, the Department of
Communication, Computer and System Sciences, University of Genova,
receiving the PhD degree in 1992. Visiting researcher by AT&T Bell
Laboratories, Holmdel, NJ, and contract professor in Digital Signal
Processing at the University of Parma, Italy, in 1990 and 1993,
respectively. Presently he teaches a course on
``Radio Communications'' at University of Genova.
Since 1996 he coordinates the ACTS EU Project VIDAS.
His research activity concerns image segmentation and feature
extraction, speech and video processing, knowledge base video coding.
